Day ?? of COVID -19 Isolation (Mt. Yonah Hike)

Day ?? of COVID -19 Isolation (Mt. Yonah Hike)

I took the day off from work and Sean and I went for a hike. We decided to climb Mt. Yonah. This was the second time we have climbed the Mountain.

When we arrived parking area, the trail was “closed” even though there were a number of cars parked there. It was “closed” due to Covid-19.  The reason we did the hike, was due to the fact that at the entry way to the parking from the street they (royal they) had removed the barricades that had once prevented people from parking, or even driving up to the parking area. Figuring they had removed these barricades I decided it was ok to hike.

Yonah is not a really hard hike, short but steep in places. Having a dog to help pull you up the steep parts was AWESOME. Make sure you bring water, not only can it be hot in the summer, but you will need some hydration. Also if you go any time after March and before October, beware of the Poison Ivy and Poison Oak. It’s everywhere. I like to wear long pants on the hikes in North GA when the poison ivy is out, just helps a little.

Wildlife we saw was, a turkey and some vultures.

It was a gorgeous day for a hike and the temperatures were awesome.
