Day 24 of COVID -19 Isolation (Helen Ride)
Empty Helen
Quick Afternoon ride from River to Sky Lake then back thru Helen. Any time you are going down Unicoi Hwy (Hwy 356) headed to towards Lake Burton, take Chimney Mountain Road on the Left about 6 miles up the road from Hwy-17. It is a quick detour, very pretty that gets you off the hwy for a mile. Another piece of advice, before entering Helen from the south going north, always take the Hardman Farms walk/bike path along the river to enter town, this is MUCH safer than the highway.
Had to take a few pictures of Helen, since it is the only time you will see it empty! You will see me post about this ride often as it is our standard “Coffee” ride. Unfortunately Sweetwater Coffee has been closed due to COVID-19.
